Membership Committee
Last updated: September 30, 2006
Revitalizing the Membership Committee will be key to building our ranks and activity level this year and in the years to come. You can help this important committee by promoting the benefits of membership; greeting, welcoming and recognizing guests at chapter functions; identifying and researching potential sources for member recruitment; enhancing our relationship with the national office; revamping the chapter's collateral print materials; and enhancing benefits and services to our existing chapter members.

Public Relations Committee
Last updated: September 10, 2009
The Public Relations Committee is directing its efforts toward two audiences, internal and external. For internal audiences, the committee is working with the Membership committee to increase awareness of member benefits, encourage member involvement and increase attendance at chapter functions. For external audiences, the committee is working toward raising the profile of the chapter as the area's premier resource for PR practitioners.

Public Service Committee
Last updated: September 10, 2009
The Public Service Committee works to enhance non-profit organizations by providing free public relations assistance. Experienced professionals, new graduates and students are welcomed to participate in the committee.

Their first client, The Raising Spirits Foundation, supports families and children who are battling pediatric cancer through a number of services and programs. Our goal: to help this small, but very important organization realize the power of public relations.

For chapter participants, this is an ideal way to network with other professionals, develop new skills, and give back to the community. Everyone has something to offer.

As the official sponsoring chapter of the Illinois State University PRSSA Chapter, we look to continually enhance our relationship with the university and leaders of tomorrow. One of the main projects of the Student Relations Committee is a mentoring program in which professional practitioners from our chapter can assist students with their career development and other issues. In addition, our chapter is looking to expand its efforts with several other Illinois colleges that have PRSSA chapters.

We need your help!

All chapter activities are led by volunteers, and the secret to keeping our chapter strong is leveraging the unique skills and talents of our members.

Could you spare an hour or more a month to help our chapter services grow?
Many of our committees need members, and some even need committee chairs. There are many opportunities to serve, whether it's leading a committee or simply making a few phone calls to reach out to current and prospective members.
